I have not read Hamlet myself, as Shakespearean playwrites are awfully long. Sometimes, telling people to act as if they do not know is usually part of some plan or scheme that is usually involved. I'm not sure but I suppose that Hamlet is acting as a madman to hide something? is it an act to make him look less innocent if he has committed a crime, as people know that he is mad? I am not sure but check it out. Try reading review of Hamlet and also try Wkipedia.org. Hope this helps. Im stumped too?
