What will happen to our earth when it is in the middle of the galatic equator?

Right now our earth is above the galatic equator and where slowy moving downwards, on Dec 21st 2012 our earth is supossed to be in the middle of it. How will this affect our earth? Will there be more gravitation pull or climate change? Thanks :)
